THE GREAT ROAD TRIP

APRIL 27 - MAY 09, 2006

DAY 8, Thursday, May 4, 2006

I left Livingston and headed for Little Rock at 9:30am, and pulled into town at 3:30pm. Found the Clinton Library after a few minutes.... it looks a bit odd. "A Bridge to the Future" - some wag said it looked like a mobile home on stilts... not far off. Saw the Oval Office recreation, looked good. Had a sample of moon rock from the Apollo Missions sitting on the coffee table. A movie about Clinton's life before becoming President, which was interesting. Learned a few things. The layout of the displays was interesting, you moved from year to year, seeing the highlights of the terms. Not much mentioned about Monica, though. Memorabilia on display, including his limo. They must give one to the Presidents when they leave office. Souvenirs at the gift shop, then out the door at closing time. On the road till about 7pm, and stayed in Russellville at the Holiday Inn. Tomorrow, Lavaca Arkansas, the home of my greatgrandparents, the Earls. Depending on the time, maybe Oklahoma City and the Cowboy Hall of fame, to say Hello again to the End of the Trail.
